Last Friday, Lakeview celebrated its 2nd Annual Homecoming Celebration, an event that has quickly become a highlight of the school year since its inception during the 2022 referendum. Unlike traditional high school homecomings, this celebration in District 66 focuses on fostering school spirit and community support.
The day kicked off with a lively parade along Fairmount Ave. in Bruce Lake, featuring the talented Marching Spartans leading the way. Community members, parents, and Prairieview students gathered to enjoy the festivities, cheering on all three mascots and appreciating participants with handmade signs. Student clubs and sports teams proudly showcased their spirit throughout the event.
After the parade, the energy continued to soar at a pep rally in the gym, where cheers and chants filled the air. Administrators and students delivered inspiring speeches about the importance of involvement and school pride.
The day was a powerful reminder of the exceptional spirit within District 66.
