The Lakeview Homecoming Celebration on Friday, September 26th was filled with spirit, pride, and excitement! The marching band set the tone, leading the parade from Bruce Lake through the Prairieview and Lakeview parking lots with a lively performance of “Twist and Shout,” the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off classic. Following behind were proud representatives of administration, the Board of Education, Lakeview clubs and sports, and ACE teams, all cheered on by the community.
The celebration continued in the Lakeview gym with a high-energy pep assembly hosted by Mrs. Fitzgerald. Dr. Wise kicked things off, highlighting an outstanding start to the year with strong seasons in golf, cross country, boys’ baseball, and girls’ softball. Eighth graders Ayla Valcik and Colin Lesch then gave inspiring speeches about what makes Lakeview such an amazing place.
The assembly closed on a special note, as Mrs. Fitzgerald recognized Band Director Mr. Ohlsen, who will be retiring at the end of the school year after years of dedication to District 66.
It was a day to remember—Lakeview pride was on full display!
