6th graders enjoy the warm weather and read their novels outside.

Lakeview's Choir Performance of "Larger Than Life" by Pinkzebra is up on the CCSD66 YouTube channel with a premiere date/time of Friday, May 21 at 3:00!
The students have been working on sending me video/audio clips since February and even did some in-person lip syncing for the video in April and May. I am so proud of the work the choir members put in this year. There is a whole extra level of accountability when so much is done outside of school and on their own time. They rose to the challenge and the video sounds/looks great! I hope you enjoy!

It is so much fun to introduce students to new things! Today 6th graders in STEM learned about circuits while playing the bongos using play-doh and a MakeyMakey. They even asked to skip a mask break to keep playing!

Students created model rockets using written and visual directions. After the model rockets were complete, students decorated the rockets. Lastly, students inserted the engine and connected the ignition. From a safe distance, the students used a double key button system and a countdown for blast off.

Seventh grade math students applied their knowledge of surface area to find the surface area of a Toblerone box! Hopefully they will share their chocolate when they come home!
