Congratulations to 7th Grade Band students Lydia J. and Annaka P. on being selected to the ILMEA Jr. Honors Band. They were selected through a competitive audition process. Lydia and Anna will be participating in the ILMEA Festival Concert with 130 other talented students from our area on Saturday, Nov. 6 at Lincoln Way Central High School. Bravo!!
Lakeview and DGS Making Connections!
A huge "Thank You" to Mr. Greg Hensel for coming out today to listen to the Lakeview Symphonic Ensemble ahead of our performance next week at DGS. Mr. Hensel is one of the Band Directors on staff at Downers Grove South High School. He had some time to work with the band and share some of his knowledge with them as well as to talk a little about the great opportunities availables for our band students at DGS.
On Tuesday Nov. 9 @ 7pm, DGS Bands are hosting their Invitational Band Concert. This concert will feature the Lakeview Symphonic Ensemble, the O'Niell Concert Band, and the DGS Wind Ensemble. Please consider coming out and hearing these fine young musicians perform in a beautiful new performance space.

The Lakeview JHS Marching Spartans celebrated with the Bruce Lake Community on October 14. The band marched through the neighborhood , did a short performance, and then we recognized many of the community members who helped with the recovery efforts from the June 20 tornado. It was a great community event.
